How would you describe what you do?

I design and create porcelain jewellery and ceramics. My jewellery is for women who appreciate unique designs. I combine porcelain with sterling silver, 14k gold and crystals. I love porcelain as it is a natural and sustainable material and will last a lifetime. 

What inspires you?

I am greatly inspired by the organic shapes and textures we find in nature. I apply these on the raw porcelain surface and then transform them into ready to wear porcelain jewellery. Most of my designs will feature natural patterns of seashells, coral reefs and volcanic rocks, dry plants and other organic materials like sand.

The creation of porcelain pendants is an interesting but challenging process that requires diligence, patience, and great attention to detail. I use quality porcelain clay known for sturdiness, pure white colour and translucency. The process starts with designing, modelling, retouching, first firing, glazing and firing again. Porcelain obtains stone-like quality after firing up to 1260C. The most exciting moment for me is when I open the kiln after the second firing and see the end result.

 

What do you enjoy most about your work?

 I am very creative and would find it hard to work only with one technique; it is all-consuming. However, I love it and couldn't live without it! I experimented with applying different textures on porcelain and like to combine porcelain clay with different raw materials.

What are you most proud of?

I am proud of taking the risk and following my heart even if it wasn’t easy to get out of the comfort zone I was in before. As people say, life is about choices, and I would say it is about those difficult choices you have to take sometimes. I visualised my future and am on the right path, I’m sure of it.

What does living well mean to you?

It is so simple for me: be kind to people, eat healthy, sleep well, be active, spontaneous, keep a work-life balance, find your passion and stay in a perfect relationship with nature as she is your best friend.

What is your self-care ritual?

If it’s home: I love candles, so it has to be a natural candle with a beautiful bergamot smell, Pilates, then hot-cold shower, Elan Skincare Orange & Chocolate body scrub (yes, I love it as it leaves my body with a beautiful smell and skin), and get cozy in bed with a book or a good film.

If it’s outside: walking barefoot, swimming in the lake or sea, walking in the forest and dancing in the rain;)))
